What’s Next for the Scarlet Witch?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness marks the most recent appearance by Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, a role she has portrayed since her appearance in the MCU in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, has stated that the Scarlet Witch story is not finished, and the character may return in the future in series or films. “There are so many to discover. We still haven’t touched on many of her core comics-based stories,” Feige said in September 2022. “Anything is possible within the Multiverse!” “We’ll be able to see.”

The future of Scarlet Witch’s live-action adaptation is uncertain, Olsen has confirmed that she is open to returning as the previous Avenger as long as Marvel committed to moving Scarlet Witch’s story forward. “I believe I would,” Olsen replied when asked whether she would be happy with the opportunity to be a part of the MCU. “But it needs to be a great story. I believe that these films work most effectively when they are not focused on making content, but rather having a strong viewpoint and not because you need to have a three-picture strategy.” Olsen is scheduled to reprise her role as the voice of Scarlet Witch in the upcoming season of the animated Disney+ series What If …?, which will debut in 2023.
